It is good to rub, and polish our brain against that of others.
~ Michel Eyquem de Montaigne

Every week a new diet or program comes out marketed as the newest and greatest 'thing'.  We are constantly bombarded with ideaologies, weight loss supplements and new ways of burning fat.  Quick fix: do this, take this and it will work for you.  But the key question is: will it work for me?

Our body is truly amazing because it is constantly bombarded with toxins during every day living.  It is detoxifying, balancing, and ensuring hundreds of bodily functions are working together for us to do even the simplest of tasks.  But what happens when we don't help it out?  We actually add to this toxic burden by not paying attention to every day culprits which can have some serious consequences.

Over the years, coupled with my education, I have read countless articles, studies, books and listened to webinars on what it means to be healthy.  I have compiled a truly thorough list of these findings to help you in your quest for optimum health!

On this first day of Spring, there is much focus on renewal and rebirth. It’s like New Year’s Day when people do detox ‘cleanses’ for weight loss, or vow to change certain behaviours – to be healthier. Why not cleanse the mind and practice some gratitude? A relatively simple thing to do but can work wonders on your well-being.

When a widely recognized author, celebrity or respected world thinker posts social media messages to live in the present; stop worrying; and that life really is short - it ALWAYS gets numerous likes.  It seems as though people still need other people to remind them how precious life is and to be grateful for the important things.

Finally, we are taking heed of how crucial healthy fats are in your diet.  Not all fats are created equal and there are ‘good’ and ‘bad’ ones.

We need fats because certain bodily functions rely on them and some vitamins actually require dietary fats to be absorbed by the body.  With so many diets and supplements to choose from, how does one make sure they are getting the right fats? And … What do these fats really do for the body anyway?

One of the biggest reasons I am in Holistic health, aside from my incredible passion for well-being, is because I see how important it is to not only be physically healthy but also mentally well-adjusted. People get so caught up in their myriad of responsibilities (me too!); they ignore their body’s warning signals to create better balance. Over time, without attention, it rarely ends well...

Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) for many women, is not only very frustrating but can greatly impact their day-to-day functions and relationships.  Many of us have accepted it as a monthly occurrence, not realizing that we CAN alleviate our symptoms ~ and the answer lies in the liver ...

I can't tell you how many times I've had women ask me 'what is inflammation and why do I need to care?' They think its arthritis or associate it with external signs of an injury with swelling, bruising, redness, etc.

Quite simple. One's state of feeling happy, healthy and fulfilled: a goal for most of us. Well-being is much more than the latest cleanse on the market to detoxify, sleep aids to help feel relaxed at night, or managing daily aches and pains.
